How long will it take to implement HotReturn™  ?

It's up to you

It could take a month it could take a year. It's up to you.

Perspective

HotReturn™ or any other software application is a tool similar to any other tool you use in your day to day business activities. If your printing experience is only with hand table presses and you buy an automated press line you will likely plan ahead and go through a period of adjustment and learning before your new tool starts to yield the results you expect to achieve. The same with a software database.

Process

The steps to implementation are relatively straight forward but do require some forethought to implement smoothly.

Standard information needs to be entered or imported; e.g. customers, suppliers, materials, operations.

There needs to be a thorough analysis of your operation to implement scheduling and assign Work Stations that will accurately reflect your hourly work capacities in respective areas of your plant. This is something that is unique to your operation and only you can determine.

You need to decide who has responsibility for generating and distributing paperwork and who is responsible for ensuring data is input and acted upon. One of the most frequent reasons for failure to implement a software solution is the failure to keep the data up to date.

The main challenge you will face is to get the rest of your organization on side and committed to undergoing the change and believing that there is a better way.  Change is difficult, people are comfortable doing what they already know .

Initially  when you do start using the software it may take as much time or longer to process work just because you will need to enter all of your existing parts. Once this has been accomplished you will start to reap the rewards of your diligence and hard work.

Help from HotReturn™

On screen help is available from the HotReturn™ Help application. Each window has a dedicated help topic and can be accessed from a number of locations. There is also extensive on screen context help, when you move your mouse over objects on the computer screen a tool tip label will display a short description of what the object does. Not every field or object has a tool tip just those that can convey an intuitive clarification without a trip to the help window.

If you are stuck and need immediate help, phone or email contact may be your best option.

If you would rather receive a comprehensive one on one explanation HotReturn™ can arrange an in house or on screen seminar.

However if you can discipline yourself to thinking in terms of,  "... what do I want to do?", instead of, "... how does the program do it ?", most tasks will be straight forward and intuitive.

It is a good idea to first get a firm grasp on the basic concepts, i.e. part specifications drive the input of data not orders. When the order is placed all the main elements have already been specified.
